Combined Efforts Theater, "Don't Change the Station"

The Kennedy Center has selected Combined Efforts Theatre in Iowa City to implement a playwriting initiative for students ages 10 to 21 with the goal to create scripts that are inclusive of people with disabilities. The troupe is performing a winter show titled "Don't Change the Station." In the cast of 30 are two performers in wheelchairs, two who depend on memorization instead of reading skills and several on the autism spectrum who have perfect pitch. The play will be performed Friday January 10th and 11th at 7pm at the Johnson County Fairgraounds Community Theater Space. (Justin Torner/Freelance for the Gazette)
