Customers enter Pagliai's Pizza Tuesday afternoon during the restraunt's 50th Anniversary, November 13, 2012. While normally the restraunt has no problem filling with patrons, for it's 50th anniversary celebration, an hour wait was already occuring 10 minutes after opening Tuesday afternoon. A&A Pagliai's Pizza celebrated its 50th anniversary in Iowa City on Tuesday by offering $5 off a large pizza and a chance to win pizza for a month. The business actually debuted in 1957 with a Pagliai's Pizza Restaurant in Ames, run by brothers Armond and Sam Pagliai. Five years later, Armond opened a shop in Iowa City at Clinton and Washington streets. Today three generations of Pagliais work in the current location at 302 E. Bloomington St., in the Northside Marketplace. (Justin Torner/Freelance)
